8th Fighter Squadron to permanently bed down at Holloman; one FTU to remain at Luke AFB

The U.S. Air Force has announced that the 8th Fighter Squadron will be permanently assigned to Holloman Air Force Base.

The squadron was reactivated in August 2017 as a F-16 Block 40 Formal Training Unit.

The press release also mentioned that plans to relocate a second F-16 FTU based at Luke AFB has been shelved.
