The U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs, R. Clarke Cooper, says he hope that India will stop buying weapons from Russia and switch to the United States as its main weapons supplier.

Speaking to the media via video conference, Cooper added that Washington wants to draw a red line on certain military procurements that India has with Russia.
He warned that buying the S-400 air defense missile system or the Su-35 fighter will create a “challenge” for interoperability with U.S. military equipment.
