NCSIST refutes report that Teng Yun 2.0 has flown

Taiwan’s National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST) has refuted a report from Liberty Times that a new variant of the its Teng Yun unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has flown.

Liberty Times said the testing took place at Hualien air base on Sept. 16. The drone was filmed making a flight for 10 minutes. However, the configuration shows it was still the first iteration of Teng Yun.

The new variant will be installed with the Honeywell TPE331 turboprop engine and has an air intake between the vertical fins.
