The Asahi Shimbun says Japan’s plan to modify 20 F-15s to carry long-range cruise missiles is in jeopardy as only $103 million has been set aside to upgrade two fighters.

The project is supposed to be completed by fiscal 2027 yet money was not allocated in the fiscal 2020 budget nor did the Ministry of Defense seek money for the project in the fiscal 2021 budget.
