Dream Chaser cleared to land at former Shuttle Landing Facility

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) has been granted approval by Space Florida to use the former Shuttle Landing Facility for its Dream Chaser spacecraft.

Besides becoming the first commercial user of the runway, the Dream Chaser will also be the first spacecraft to land there after undocking from the International Space Station (ISS) since the Space Shuttle program ended in 2011.

SNC is on course to send the Dream Chaser to the ISS next year.
