Security camera captures final moment of Draken F1 crash at Nellis AFB

The crash of a Mirage F1M owned by Draken International on May 24 at Nellis Air Force Base was captured by a security camera.


The video obtained by 8 News NOW Las Vegas shows the jet descending at an angle, playback of the video was slowed down approximately two times and captured using a phone. The ejection sequence occurred around 5 seconds before impact.

The pilot did not survive the crash. He was identified as Nicholas Hunter Hamilton, Hamilton left the military service in 2020 to work for Draken International.

  1. Sounds like he targeted the Mirage F-1 to land away from houses and ejected five seconds before the crash happened. His parachute did not fully deploy to save his life. He was a hero who saved the lives of people living in their homes
