The aircraft was last seen on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier back in the 1960s. It was on display at the New England Air Museum before it was discovered by Eric Boehm, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum’s curator of aviation.

After working out a deal with New England Air Museum, the warbird will make a three-day journey and reach Intrepid on Jul. 27.
