Flight tracking data showed that the airliner had left New Delhi before sunrise and landed in Bangalore after 8 o’clock in the morning.

The plane was heading back to New Delhi just before noon when the incident occurred. It remained at the airport until the next day.

This was probably due to the fact that the airport at HAL has no towing equipment large enough to handle the Boeing aircraft and the equipment had to be brought in from Kempegowda International Airport.

The mishap aircraft is VT-ALW and was the second jet to arrived home after modifications in the United States. The first aircraft is VT-ALV.
