The missile booster will be combined with the Common Hypersonic Glide Body (CHGB) to form the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) for the U.S. Navy and Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) for the Army.

The naval branch will lead the design of the CHGB while the land counterpart handles the production.

A successful SRM test is a critical step toward the joint testing of the CPS and LRHW weapons systems, which will lead to their eventual fielding.
