Italian stunt pilot Dario Costa has set a new Guinness World Record for Longest Tunnel Flown through with an Aeroplane on Sept. 4 in Turkey.
His Zivko Edge 540 V2 was modified to reduce drag with human-made ‘sharkskin’ along with other weight reduction measures.
The flight was carried out at 6:43 a.m. local time so that the temperature difference between the interior and exterior of the tunnels is keep to a minimum. This is to ensure a smooth and stable flight throughout the record-breaking attempt.
