The U.S. Army’s 94th Army Air and Missile Defense Command (94th AAMDC) is deploying a set of Iron Dome air defense system to Andersen Air Force Base, Guam for operational testing.
The 2nd Battalion, 43rd Air Defense Artillery Regiment will be responsible for operating the unit.
The mission is dubbed Operation Iron Island.
A spokesperson from the 94th AAMDC says the Army hopes to integrate the Iron Dome with the THAAD missile system that is already on the island.
