NASA astronaut Dr. Kate Rubins was commissioned into the U.S. Army Reserve as a Major on Nov. 2.

Rubins hope that her journey as an office in the Army Reserve will help her sharpen her leadership skills and enhance her operational sensibility.
She has spent 300 days in space and completed four spacewalks since graduating from the 20th NASA astronaut class.
