France cleared to buy EMALS and AAG

France has secured the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) for its next aircraft carrier as the U.S. State Department approve the Foreign Military Sale on Dec. 21.

The EMALS comes in 2 launcher configuration while the AAG will have 3 engine. The package is worth up to $1.321 billion.
