Barksdale AFB conducts first ACE exercise

Two B-52H bombers deployed to Arkansas Aeroplex on Jan. 12 as part of Barksdale Air Force Base’s first Agile Combat Employment exercise.

A B-52H Stratofortress takes off as part of Agile Combat Employment at the Arkansas Aeroplex, Blytheville, Arkansas, Jan. 12, 2022. Using the ACE concept, within a few hours B-52s can land at a location, receive repairs, resupply and be back in the air before an adversary can pinpoint their location. This is also the first time that the B-52 has returned to Arkansas since Eaker Air Force Base was closed.

For this ACE exercise, two C-130s from Dyess Air Force Base went along to ferry personnel and transport supplies necessary to rearm the bombers.
