Four JASDF airmen on Tonga humanitarian support mission tested positive for COVID

Four Japan Air Self-Defense Force airmen who are delivering aid to disaster-hit Tonga have been tested positive for the coronavirus.


The mission is now suspended as 36 members of the team are under quarantine.

The Australian government also announced that 23 sailors aboard HMAS Adelaide, a Canberra-class landing helicopter dock ship, were infected with COVID-19 as well.
