USMC F/A-18D crashes

A U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18D crashed on Mar. 3 during a routine flight in Beaufort. Both crew members ejected safely.


The plane crashed into the plantation of South Carolina’s former governor.

The sister of former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford said she saw the aircraft was on fire before it hit the ground.

The aircraft was assigned to VMFA(AW)-533.
