The vice commander of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) Maj. Gen. Arthur Cordura told senators during a hearing that only five out of twelve FA-50PH fighters are operational.

Cordura explained that two jets are undergoing routine maintenance while the rest are waiting for spare parts. Delivery of spares are delayed by the COVID pandemic.
He added that 10 jets will be serviceable by the end of the year.
