The German Navy has picked Rheinmetall to supply eight LG27-4.0 naval guns for its F126-class frigates.
These frigates, being build by Dutch shipbuilder Damen Naval, will be equipped with two MLG27-4.0 guns each. Germany’s F-125 frigates are currently equipped with the predecessor of the MLG27-4.0.
“We are extremely pleased to join forces with Rheinmetall on the F126 project for the German Navy. The broad range of capabilities make their MLG27-4.0 weapon system the right choice for the F126 frigates,” says Hein van Ameijden, the Managing Director of Damen Naval.
