AGM-183A missile passes operation prototype test with flying colors

The U.S. Air Force has achieved a successful test of the first All-Up-Round AGM-183A Air-launched Rapid Response Weapon off the Southern California coast, Dec. 9.

The ARRW missile successfully separated from a B-52H bomber and reached speeds higher than Mach 5 during the test. The missile completed its flight path and detonated in the designated area, indicating that all objectives were met.

According to the press release, the 412th Test Wing at Edwards Air Force Base in California was responsible for executing the flight test of the ARRW missile.

The 412th Test Wing is a unit of the United States Air Force, located at Edwards Air Force Base in California. The wing is responsible for conducting developmental testing and evaluation of new and emerging technologies for the Air Force, including aircraft, weapons systems, and other equipment. The 412th Test Wing is the largest wing in the Air Force Test Center, and it is composed of four groups and several support squadrons. The wing was first established in 1949.
