Downdraft from Royal Thai Navy H145M causes tent collapse, injuring eight

Eight people were injured when giant tents collapsed during a National Children’s Day event in Chanthaburi province on Jan. 14. The incident occurred when a Royal Thai Navy H145M helicopter flew directly above three giant tents, sending powerful downdrafts that caused the structures to collapse onto a crowd below.

The injured included five children and three adults, with one woman suffering a cut on her head and a broken neck. She was admitted to Phrapokklao Hospital in Chanthaburi.

The navy has apologized for the incident and offered the injured individuals financial aid and medical care.

It can be seen on the video that as the H145M approached the crowd gathered before the tents, it began dropping small packages. It then proceeds to fly over the tents, causing three tents to collapse.
