JMSDF has started its MQ-9B trials

Media outlets in Japan have reported that the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) has started trials of a single General Atomics MQ-9B unmanned air vehicle at Hachinohe Air Base.

The drone is expected to clock 2,000 hours in the air by the time testing wraps up.

The JMSDF has selected the MQ-9B in March this year for the Medium-Altitude, Long-Endurance (MALE) RPAS Trial Operation Project.
