Roll out of the 500th Bayraktar TB2

The completion of the 500th unit of the Bayraktar TB2, Turkey’s first indigenous armed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), was celebrated with great enthusiasm during a ceremony held at Baykar Technologies’ state-of-the-art technology center located in Istanbul’s Başakşehir district.


The ceremony itself revolved around the symbolic exit of the Bayraktar TB2, designated with the tail number T500, from the production line. This momentous occasion elevated the total production of these advanced drones to an impressive count of 580 units, inclusive of the 80 UAVs that have already been successfully deployed. The event was attended by distinguished guests, industry experts, and members of the production team, all of whom recognized the collective effort and dedication required to achieve such a feat.

Selçuk Bayraktar, the visionary chief technology officer of Baykar Technologies, took the opportunity to commend the entire production team for their exceptional work in making the Bayraktar TB2 a resounding success. During his speech, he underscored the significance of this indigenous UAV, which has not only garnered the distinction of being Türkiye’s most exported unmanned aircraft but has also demonstrated outstanding performance across diverse operational environments worldwide. The ceremony served as a testament to the company’s commitment to innovation, technological advancement, and national defense.

Beyond the celebration of the Bayraktar TB2’s milestone, the event provided a platform to showcase other remarkable unmanned systems developed by Baykar. Among them was the Bayraktar Akıncı, a recent addition to the company’s inventory that has garnered significant attention for its advanced capabilities. Additionally, ongoing development projects such as the Bayraktar TB3 and Bayraktar Kızılelma were also prominently displayed, offering a glimpse into the future of Turkeye’s unmanned systems.
