F-15C, #82-0025, flew its final flight on Jul. 30 and the 40th Flight Test Squadron decided to take the opportunity to honor the late Maj. James Duricy.
Duricy was on a test flight for the AIM-9X test program when his jet 82-0022 had structural integrity failure and he did not survive the ejection.
On this final flight for 82-0025, the unit configured the jet similar to Duricy’s test flight and used the same callsign Quell 2.
Col. Sean Bradley, who was the acting flight test engineer during that test back in 2002, came out to pay his respects to Duricy and 82-0025. He had witnessed the incident from another aircraft.
