421st Expeditionary Fighter Squadron is the first USAF F-35A unit to go on alert status

The 421st Expeditionary Fighter Squadron has become the first F-35A unit in the U.S. Air Force to go on alert status this month.

An F-35A Lighting II taxis at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, May 20, 2020. Airmen from the 388th and 419th Fighter Wings have deployed F-35As into combat three times in 12 months. The group of deployed Airmen is made of pilots for the actvie duty 421st Fighter Squadron and the Reserve 466th Fighter Squadron, as well as active duty and Reserve Airmen in the 421st Aircraft Maintnenace Unit. First F-15EX simulator to be delivered to Eglin AFB this year

Boeing will be delivering a F-15EX simulator to Eglin Air Fore Base later this year as the 85th Test and Evaluation Squadron and the 40th Flight Test Squadron gear up to start development and operational testing next year.
