USN to issue draft RFP for RAQ-25 this year

The U.S. Navy will finally release the draft Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Carrier Based Aerial Refueling System (CBARS) program this year, that will be followed by a final RFP in fiscal 2017.

Hellenic Navy AB-212 crashed, three killed

A AB-212 naval helicopter from the Greek Navy crashed during a night training flight in the early hours of Feb. 11. Three people on board were killed.

USN has started the process to bring P-8A to Iceland

The fiscal 2017 defense budget has an item to upgrade an aircraft hangar at the former Naval Air Station Keflavik in order to support future P-8A missions out of Iceland.

Carrier Air Wing 14 to disband

The Pentagon has decided to disband Carrier Air Wing Fourteen (CVW-14), which is based at Naval Air Station Lemoore, California, in October.

VAW-115 to be redeployed from Japan to U.S. next year
