Japan is trying to get rid of 200 P&W F100 turbofan engines

During an earnings briefing on May 9, Hiroshi Ide, President of IHI Corporation, told reporters that approximately 200 Pratt & Whitney F100 turbofan engines mounted on the Mitsubishi F-15J fighter will have to be disposed of when they are retired.

Czech donating two SA-6 systems to Ukraine and potentially L-159s too

In a recent announcement, Czech President Petr Pavel confirmed that the Czech Republic will hand over two SA-6 air defense systems and corresponding missiles to Ukraine. In addition, he suggested that donating Czech L-159 fighter planes to Ukraine would also be appropriate.

Japan and South Korea to share radar system via U.S. network for missile tracking

Japan and South Korea are reportedly planning to link their radar systems through a US network to share real-time information on North Korea’s ballistic missiles. The Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper was the first to report on the agreement, which would allow Japan to improve its detection capabilities as North Korea continues to fire off missiles at an unprecedented pace.
