UCLASS will be dedicated aerial refueling tanker

Defense News reports that the Pentagon has decided that the U.S. Navy’s Unmanned Carrier-Launched Airborne Surveillance and Strike (UCLASS) is to be a dedicated aerial refueling tanker for the aircraft carriers.

Russia deployed four Su-35S fighters to Syria

The Russian Defense Ministry has confirmed that four Su-35S fighters have been deployed to Syria. Spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov told journalists: “Starting from last week, super-maneuverable Su-35S fighter jets started performing combat missions at Khmeimim airbase.”

Malaysia buys six MD 530G attack helicopters

The Malaysian Army has bought six MD 530G scout attack helicopters for its Army Aviation branch. The rotor-craft will support the Malaysian Army’s operations in the Eastern Sabah Security Command.

Chinese aircraft had entered KADIZ

The two Chinese military aircraft that flew over the Sea of Japan on Jan. 31 had entered the Korean Air Defense Identification Zone, prompting the RoKAF to issue a warning over the radio.

Watch JASDF stands up 9th Air Wing in Okinawa

For the first time in 51 years, the Japan Air Self Defense Force established a new Air Wing on Jan. 31. The 9th Air Wing is based at Naha airbase in Okinawa.
