AN/TPY-2 gets new computer processor

Raytheon has upgraded the computer processor in the AN/TPY-2 ballistic missile defense radar.

The new processor, with approximately five times more processing power, will allow the radar to both perform better during raids and to more quickly and accurately discriminate between a missile’s warhead, and non-threats such as countermeasures.
