A Kurdish website said the United States has completed its upgrade of an airstrip in the town of Rmaylan in Syria and work has started on a second runway southeast of Kobani.
A spokesman for U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said, however, the United States was not taking control of any airfields in Syria.
