Lockheed Martin CEO says “close to a deal” with Pentagon to lower F-35 costs

Lockheed Martin’s Chief Executive Officer Marillyn Hewson has met incoming U.S. President Donald Trump for a second time and later told reporters that her company is “close to a deal” to bring down the cost of its F-35 program.

“I certainly share his views that we need to get the best capability to our men and women in uniform, and we have to get it at the lowest possible price,” Hewson was quoted as saying.

Hewson also said the aerospace company plans to increase jobs at its Fort Worth, Texas, facility by 1,800.
