B-52s deployed in Middle East flew more than 200 consecutive sorties without breaking down

The 96th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron and the 96th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Unit achieved a remarkable feat on Jan. 5 when they launched their 201st sortie in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

Over a period of around three months, the unit was able to fly consecutively without canceling a single sortie due to maintenance issue.

They went on to clock a total of 227 sorties before encountering the first maintenance cancellation in the middle of this month.
