Interview with Katsuhiko Tokunaga on Super Blue 3

We were lucky to grab hold Katsuhiko Tokunaga and ask him a few questions on his latest book, Super Blue 3. The book is available for sale today.

1) So when was the last time you publish the Super Blue series?

1987 in Japan, and following year in foreign countries.

2) What took you so long to come out with the third book? What made you decide to do Super Blue 3 now.

While it has been planning for quite long time, the circumstances made it possible. The concrete project of this edition started early last year.

3) Were there any difficulties that you encountered as you prepare for this book?

The distribution of the pictorial book is not easy in these days. To convince the publisher was a challenge.

4) Will your readers got to see exclusive pictures that you’ve never publish before?

Yes, many.

5) Super Blue 1 & 2 had Japanese editions. Do you plan to do that for the new book?

Super Blue 3 is the Japanese edition only (at least at this stage)

6) You moved from film to digital cameras over the years. Will there be any pictures in Super Blue 3 taken using film?

No. Due to the quality, you cannot mix the digital and the film.

7) Who would you like to thank for helping to publish Super Blue 3.

Yorimasa TAKEDA. The producer of the book. He made everything possible. There is no Super Blue 3 without him.
