Russia will resume regular air patrols over the Arctic using the MiG-31BM starting from this year.
The task has been given to two MiG-31BM squadrons. One in Kola Peninsular and one in the Pacific region.
Exercises were carried out last year to familiarize the crews and during the exercise, the warplanes were airborne for more than five hours.
