JASDF Kawasaki C-2 visiting Vietnam on Mar. 8

Japan is sending three types of transport aircraft to Vietnam for long-range flying training in March.

A Gulfstream U-4 from the 1st Tactical Airlift Group will be arriving on Mar. 3. This will be followed by the Kawasaki C-2 on Mar 8. This C-2 is from the 2nd Tactical Airlift Group. A C-130 will arrive in Vietnam on Mar. 10.

The Japan Air Self-Defense Force says the purpose of the training flights is to be familiarize with the region and air routes and improve the ability to carry out disaster relief activies in the region.
