Financial Times reported that the Chinese hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) test in July included the launch of a projectile from the vehicle while it flew over the South China Sea.
Some experts believe it was an air-to-air missile that was fired while others think it was a countermeasure designed to fool air defense interceptors.
