KC-46A fleet, including Japanese ones, have faulty over-wing emergency exits

Boeing has found out last month that the over-wing emergency exit doors on the KC-46A do not open at all, due to a trim problem.

The issue affects all KC-46A aircraft in service, including two aircraft in use by Japan.

Boeing now advises users to remove a piece of trim that interferes with the opening of exit doors and switch to Velcro instead.

The aerospace company will now have to come up with a fix and retrofit it to the aircraft.
