Brig. Gen. Denise Donnell became the first female commander of the New York Air National Guard on Apr. 2.
The change of command ceremony took place at New York National Guard headquarters in Latham. Maj. Gen. Timothy LaBarge relinquishes his command to Donnell.
Donnell was a former P-3 pilot from the U.S. Navy from 1993 to 2002.
