Capt. Taylor Bye is the first woman to receive the Kolligian Trophy. Bye was lauded for her airmanship in landing a busted-up A-10 back to Moody Air Force Base in April 2020.

On a basic surface attack ride at Grand Bay Range, Bye’s A-10’s gun experienced a catastrophic failure which blew away the canopy and prevented the landing gear from lowering.
Bye skillfully landed the aircraft with minimal damage and earned her the Air Combat Command Airmanship Award last year.
