Firsthand account of June Fourth Incident by former USAF Assistant Air Attaché

Ken Allen, who served as the U.S. Air Force’s Assistant Air Attaché in Bejing from 1987- 1989, recalls the events before, during, and after the Tiananmen Square incident.

For his efforts made during that period, Allen received the Unit Exceptional Collector of the Year Award for 1989.

Allen also briefly mentioned about the Peace Pearl program, a joint effort by China and the United States to upgrade the Shenyang J-8 fighter with U.S. avionics and radars.
