The Pakistan Air Force says it lost a unmanned aerial vehicle in Mianwali district on Jun. 18. Close examination of the wreckage reveals it as a Chinese-made Wing Loong.

Argentina mulls Mirage F1, 2000 from France
Argentina’s Defense Minister Julio Martinez told La Nacion during his trip to France that he is negotiating with Paris for the purchase of 12 Mirage F1 and 2000 fighters.

Norway plans to buy new maritime patrol aircraft and long-range air defense system
A whitepaper describing the Long Term Plan for the Norwegian Armed Forces for the years 2017-2020 has been published by the Norwegian government. The plan calls for the acquisition of new maritime patrol aircraft and a long-range air defense system to complement the current NASAMS 2.

F/A-18s tried to stop Russian Su-34s from bombing U.S.-back Syrian rebels
U.S.-backed Syrian rebels stationed near the border with Jordan was pounded by a pair of Russian Su-34 fighters last week. The Pentagon quickly diverted two F/A-18s to the scene to stop the air strikes but the Russians resume their bombing once the jets left for refueling.
