GA-ASI’s MQ-20 takes tactical orders from an F-22 pilot in latest Edwards AFB exercise

GA-ASI and the U.S. Air Force conducted a manned-unmanned teaming demonstration at Edwards Air Force Base recently that marked a notable step forward in the service’s pursuit of autonomous wingman capability, and the second time in four months that an F-22 Raptor and an MQ-20 Avenger have shared the same airspace as a coordinated team.

Embraer and Northrop Grumman formalize KC-390 Tanker Partnership, targeting U.S. Air Force and Allied markets

Embraer and Northrop Grumman announced on Feb. 19 that they are formally partnering to develop an advanced version of the KC-390 Millennium multi-mission aircraft for the United States Air Force and allied nations, closing the loop on a years long campaign by the Brazilian airframer to establish itself as a serious player in the American defense market.

Pulau Sudong runway extended to 3 km, enables F-35B vertical landing training offshore

Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority’s 2025 Master Plan has revealed the post-reclamation configuration of Pulau Sudong, showing a significantly expanded military airfield that could extend the island’s existing runway from 2,000 meters to approximately 3,000 meters. The expansion, scheduled for completion by 2028, could potentially address growing Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) training requirements while mitigating aircraft noise pollution affecting mainland residential areas.

Lawmakers grill military leaders at V-22 hearing

American military leaders faced intense scrutiny from lawmakers on Feb. 9 over the V-22 Osprey’s troubled safety record, with accident rates spiking nearly 90 percent above historical averages and 20 service members killed between fiscal years 2022 and 2024.
