Mi-28 test pilot Gurgen Karapetyan has passed away

Soviet test pilot Gurgen Karapetyan has passed away just days before his birthday on Dec. 9. He was 84 years old.

Karapetyan was the test pilot for the Mi-26 heavy-lift helicopter and Mi-28 attack helicopter.

Working for Mil from 1962 to 1993, he amassed 5,500 flying hours over his career.
